Material takes the lead in J. Adams & Co’s latest release, introducing new expressions across two of its signature collections. Defined by a shift in materiality, these updates explore how texture, translucency, and finish can reshape the way light is experienced within a space.

The Flume Collection, long specified for its balance of reeded brass and glass, is now available in Alabaster. This update softens the collection’s architectural profile, replacing clarity with a more diffused, ambient glow. Paired with a range of finishes including Antique Brass, Bronze, Satin Brass, and Satin Nickel, the natural veining of alabaster introduces depth and subtle variation across each piece.

Alongside this, the Luna Collection is reimagined in Capiz shell, developed with material specialists Nature Squared. The natural translucency of the shell enhances Luna’s signature halo effect, introducing a soft, iridescent quality that shifts with light and perspective. Each shell is responsibly sourced from small-scale Filipino fisherfolk and hand-finished using heritage techniques, with each design limited to 25 pieces.

Together, these material updates extend two well-established collections into new territories, offering greater flexibility for projects where finish, texture, and light quality are key considerations across residential, hospitality, and commercial environments.
