As part of Il Fanale’s Light Comes True Series, selected collaborators discuss some of their inspirations behind their iconic designs. In 2015, Cristina Celestino first collaborated with Il Fanale to design the iconic Bon Ton Collection. A common thread throughout Cristina’s work is her exploration into reinventing traditional forms and defined geometry. Inspired by feminine accessories, Cristina pushes the boundary of scale, resulting in the elegance of the Bon Ton Collection.
Bon Ton Collection designed by Cristina Celestino for Il Fanale
First launched at Milan Design Week 2015, the Bon Ton Collection is reminiscent of women’s jewellery and earrings. The copper or brass closing curl, the sinuous oak wood detail and the numerous pastel shades have made Bon Ton an iconic lighting fixture.
In 2019, the Bon Ton Marbles Pendant Light was launched and featured a redesign of materials to include a marble ornament and shaded glass sphere. The result, a work of art where typical elements of Italian style are reinterpreted gracefully in a contemporary and iconic way.
