Celebrating Excellence in Design: Australian Interior Design Awards 2024

The Australian Interior Design Awards (AIDA) is a prestigious event that recognises and celebrates outstanding achievements in interior design. This year, the awards ceremony took place on Friday, 14 June, in the elegant Wentworth Ballroom at the Sofitel Sydney Wentworth. The fabulous gala dinner, hosted by award-winning comedian Nath Valvo, was attended by over 450 members of Australia’s interior design community, making it a night to remember.

LightCo was proud to sponsor the Award for Installation Design, a category that highlights innovation and creativity in spatial installations. Our General Manager, Dario Dal Ponte, was honoured to present this award to NVG and Hassell for their collaborative exhibition ‘Design Wall 2023’. The immersive project’s ability to captivate and educate visitors about local design innovations made it a standout in this year’s competition.

This year’s awards featured an impressive array of category winners, each showcasing exceptional talent and vision. A special mention goes to Northcote House by LLDS, which took out the Premier Award for Australian Interior Design. This project stood out for the jury as it rigorously challenged each member’s way of thinking about residential interiors.

Northcote House’s innovation and sustainability agenda, with every component of the home manufactured within five kilometres of the site, made the project a very deserving recipient of the Premier Award. The project’s innovative building technologies and joy-sparking spaces have shaped Northcote House into a champion of small footprint living.
