The City of Lights

Salone del Mobile.Milano, who hosts Euroluce, has reformulated the show’s layout for 2023, aligning it with a concept they have called “The City of Lights”.

Whilst Euroluce is foremost a business event and a presentation of new products, it’s also an opportunity to promote multidisciplinary cultural activities connected with light.

Curator Beppe Finessi, an Italian architect and academic, explains:

[Euroluce is] a multidisciplinary project that, confident of the results of formal and technological product experimentation by the very top design companies…seeks and reaches out to dialogue with other fields of creativity, such as the world of architecture, interior architecture and displays, installations, painting, sculpture and photography.

The goal is to harness a multitude of different visions, which can be contrasting and contradictory, and embed them within Euroluce’s layout, elevating the show into an occasion for discovery and rediscovery, a reflection on the past and on the future, and a dialogue between technology and art, architecture and design. Much like you would encounter in a bustling metropolitan, hence the theme, The City of Lights.
