Thompson Health Care, an aged care specialist, has transformed a unique property in the upscale Sydney suburb of Beecroft into Cheltenham House. This facility blends a heritage home, once owned by the Arnott family—renowned for their biscuits—with a 20-year-old modern building. The heritage home, known as ‘Brunoy,’ was originally built in 1916 for Herbert Arnott. While many of the original heritage features have been removed, the property’s historical charm remains, now enhanced by state-of-the-art facilities.
The thoughtfully curated design at Cheltenham House was led by TSD Studio, highlighted by a beautiful selection of fixtures from LightCo. The reception area showcases two sophisticated Ison 5LT Pendant Lights alongside a series of large Alba Wall Lights, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In a private dining area, a trio of Bell Copo Pendant Lights add a vibrant touch, while Bode Wall Lights illuminate the hallways, seamlessly blending functionality with style. Custom nickel wall lights by Lighting Republic provide bedside comfort, while other standout fixtures like the Bon Ton Marbles Pendant Light, Orb Sur Wall Light and Ison Wall Light are featured throughout the establishment.
Cheltenham House exemplifies the evolving design trends in aged care facilities, where creating a homelike environment is paramount. The seamless blend of heritage elements with modern lighting fixtures creates a harmonious mix of comfort, elegance, and functionality, making Cheltenham House a place where residents can feel truly at home.
