A few styles of designer decorative lights from LightCo complement the laidback luxury feel of this recently completed holiday house.
Located in Palm Beach, on Sydney’s Northern Beaches, the site has panoramic views of Pittwater Bay to the west. Playoust Churcher Architects were asked to design a beach house that capitalised on the views and maximised natural light.
Featured in the house is the Galileo pendant light by Il Fanale, the Random Solo pendant light by Lodes, and the Organic pendant light by Lighting Republic.
The Galileo in the extra-large iron finish takes pride of place above the dining table. Its dominating size works to zone the area and the pre-aged finish blends beautifully with the surrounding timber and stone. A cluster of the Random Solo brings an airy, delicate presence to the stairwell void. And finally, the Organic with its wabi sabi finish adds a whimsical touch to the restful bedroom.
Meet the builder: PMD Build
The company was founded by Philip Drew, who followed in his father and brother’s architectural footsteps, taking up a builder’s apprenticeship in 1999. During his time as a builder, Phil has worked extensively on home renovations in the Sydney metropolitan area.
