Northern AW22

Norwegian brand Northern has dropped four new lights for the Reconnect AW22 collection.

The new lights are part II of the Reconnect collection, first introduced as SS22 with a lookbook. “As we reconnect with the world around us, the new collection from Northern is made with you and your life in mind,” says the brand.

Northern has successfully collaborated with designers and design studios to develop their contemporary decorative lighting range, and the AW22 drop is no different.

The Balancer mini wall/table lamp is a new addition to the Balancer collection by Berlin-based design studio YUUE.

Salto is a new collection by Oslo-based design firm Girdy with a whimsical loop construction inspired by their teenage love of skating and snowboarding.

Finally, the Tradition pendant also makes its debut to much fanfare. It’s the brainchild of Norwegian design duo Morten & Jonas.

Berlin-based design studio YUUE, have added a mini lamp to their gravity defying Balancer series. Drastically reduced in size, but with the same much-loved look, this reimagined multifunctional light fits perfectly on a windowsill, bookcase, or workstation.

Effortlessly transforming from a wall lamp into a table lamp thanks to the magnetic metal plate included, the Balancer Mini comes in a matt black, steel, or red finish. Its rectangular column cleanly conceals all the electrical components and wall mounting details, while the mouth-blown opal glass shade smartly rotates to direct the light emitted. This is then controlled by a discrete 3-step touch brass dimmer, ensuring the Balancer Mini always meets your changing needs.

Just like you marvel at professional skaters and snowboarders doing 360° loops in the air, it’s easy to marvel at the seamless loop construction of the new Salto collection by Oslo-based design firm Girdy.

Suited to both intimate and spacious settings, this fun and flexible steel lamp is sure to become a much-loved everyday favourite.

Northern is receiving a hugely positive reaction to the new Tradition pendant, and we are experiencing the same with our LightCo community. It’s easy to understand why – the airy, sculptural lights are beautifully lightweight but with a super-durable knitted polyester shade. The series looks spectacular clustered together, but each shape can also stand on its own.

Norwegian design duo Morten & Jonas sought to take a contemporary approach to a time-honoured craft. The off-white shade is carefully stretched over the white metal frame and fastened at the top and bottom. Available in three shapes, Small, Tall and Large Oval, the power cable is also concealed with a clean silk cord.

Reconnect is a decorative lighting collection that achieves its aim of creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere to meet up and relax in. All lights in the collection are available to purchase from LightCo with a 12–16-week lead-time.
