Authentic British design combined with the use of the highest quality materials, craftsmanship and innovative engineering with the aim to create lighting collections that will enrich, accent, and enhance an interior and meaningfully connect with the people within it.
Founded in 2016, their aesthetic is born from the industrial heritage and traditional manufacturing skills of their Birmingham metalwork factory. With collections created by Design Director Will Earl, inspiration is drawn from traditional styles, reimagining them in contemporary form to create lighting that has timeless appeal and enduring quality.
J. Adams and Co. take pride in meticulously undertaking every stage of the design and production process – from prototyping, hand forming and machining to finishing and assembly, ensuring that their hand-crafted lighting designs are always of the highest quality.
A directional design, the Vector Collection is an experimentation which develops the applied use and linearity of reeded solid brass. Angled cuts reveal elliptical openings, exposing opal glass globes nested inside which provide a diffused, indirect illumination. With a graphic silhouette, Vector’s antique brass or bronze finish lends both a mid-century and industrial style.
The Nova Collection consists of of three elegant, celestial inspired shaped pendants which explore the sculptural possibilities of mouth blown glass. Chosen for its porcelain-like texture, the opaline, sandblasted glass provides a soft, diffused illumination. Appearing to pierce through the glass, a tapered stem with Art Deco inspired detailing anchors the designs.
Additionally, the Nova Collection is also available in a Table Lamp & Wall Light, both are functional luminaires and engaging objects.
Exploring concealed light and reflected illumination, the Luna Collection takes inspiration from the cosmos, mimicking the effect of a total eclipse by using handmade stone discs to obscure a concealed LED light source.
The Luna Table Lamp & Pendant Light create an outward halo of warm and inviting indirect light that is reflected by the large hand-spun brass dish, both create an outward halo of warm and inviting indirect light. The Luna Wall Light uses a stone disc to obscure a concealed LED light source, reflecting against a hand spun brass disc.
The Supernova Collection consists of entirely configurable statement pendants, comprised of solid brass cantilevered arms that can be effortlessly configured into 2, 3 or 4-arm formations.
The sandblasted elliptical shades are beautifully translucent, offering a warm diffused illumination when lit, and sculptural elegance when off. Each shade features stepped brass Deco detailing, alongside solid tapered counterweights to provide equilibrium.
Taking inspiration from the mid-century and Art Deco eras, the Flume Collection has an effortless contemporary silhouette crafted from machined brass and precision cut reeded glass. In either an antique brass or bronze finish, Flume’s sophisticated design plays with verticality and light refraction to create an elegant and intimate illumination within any space.
The Flume Collection consists of two different sizes and is available in various pendant light and wall light configurations.
Sourced from its namesake region of Spain, the Aragon Collection explores the translucent and reflective properties of alabaster. Playing with texture and light, in material and illumination; the opalescent, sculptural stone contrasts with its lustrous, burnished bronze machined brass body, with conical stepped shade designed to both reflect and diffuse light.
With its classic industrial styling, the Lantern Collection is unrivalled in quality and is comprised of seven different collections: Ash, Birch, Cedar, Elm, Hazel, Lilac & Oak.
Aesthetically timeless, the range of interior and exterior Lanterns are crafted by hand from lustrous brass that will naturally age and patina over time. Alongside the standard clear and frosted glass options, the Lantern collection is now with reeded glass, refracting and diffusing the light source to provide a more architectural aesthetic.
